haikus

Baron the heron

drifts slowly, sailboat in sky,

eyes only see fish.

Boulders now are low

as seasons change, like the pond.

Water high, winter.

Boulders high, summer

sun boldly bakes them like bread.

Pond rock-stars basking.

Winter lawn bright white.

Green city below bustling,

regeneration.

Weeds want us to know

they don't deserve our anger.

But know what we'll do.

Daffodils asleep,

hear rumble not known to us.

Are pulled toward the sky.

Hummingbirds snow blue,

sad red feeders were ignored.

Saved by warm south winds.

Cool wind from the north

reminder of lands with snow.

Green here, all we know.

Cloud's drifting image

changes, a forgotten dream.

Shape shifts like our life.

Leaf floats, waiting pond.

Stem rudder. Veins lead to bow.

Drifts like time's asleep.
