Taking Liberty
Stature of Liberty
cringes as darkness
races across the harbor
at breathtaking speed.
Sun slowly creeps
behind monoliths,
monstrosities of
materialism,
volcanoes
of greed.
Rats scurry in
the shadows of
a dark world,
look for a leader.
Pussy grabber
needs to prove
he is the alpha.
Crawls out, den
of broken combs.
Masses of crassness
slip and slide in excrement,
satisfied and jubilant
revel beneath monuments
of penultimate splendor.
Know God is on their side.
No God is on their side.
Hiss, vitriol seeped eyes,
sharp biting teeth.
Cower and seethe,
venom filled air,
swamp like muck,
smog and smoke.

Nibble in slimy slough
on darkening banana peels
with crawling dark biting bugs
lost in the magnificence
of their ultimate meal.
Liberty lowers her torch.
Protection from
full frontal assault.
Lurking presence
crawls through sewers,
underworld highway
from his compost bin den
next to trashed garbage cans
of an old white house.
Seethes and foams
with a rabid love
only he understands.
Slighted by her precaution,
he will prove his to be
the only true love
she's ever known.
The sun quivers
and sets, knows
the alpha is here.
