John Westgate

John

John you never left us

John we’re not alone

Because I hear your laughter

Loud, a megaphone

Your subtle’s far from subtle

Wise radiations from your eyes

Like perfection in a rafter

Riding stars down from the sky

You were a force of nature

Seeing shoddy drove you nuts

Politicians, people, builders

Would benefit from your guts

You and Jean once knew wander

But a forest became your home

Your children all that mattered

Life’s cards said not to roam

The other day I had a vision

You and angels in a crowd

You were showing them a planer

To straighten out those clouds

John you never left us

John we’re not alone

Because I hear your laughter

Loud, a megaphone
